I have been looking to find a particular fruit tree when I came cross this and liked it ......
'Pippin' is an old English word derived from the French word for 'seedling'. The same word can be seen in the modern French for a plant nursery or garden centre - 'pepiniere'.
Bob Zzzzzzz after trying to put fencing up for the chicken run, Nookie interupted him by having a scratch on the post then chewed the top of the coop, needless to say after much eye rolling about animals he came in for a Zzzzzzzzz before going to our French neighbours for aperitifs.

NEED A NEW CAMERA......
I need a new camera how bad is this video clip but I was out this morning doing my in hand work and managed to take this little snippet.... I had instructed Nookie with my body to trot on then stand stock still for a period then trot to the fence and stand stock still again......the fact that two cows had just been put in the field opposite had nothing to do with it.....Tee hee ;-)

Non ma leçon d'habitude française.......
No French lessons for two weeks.......or so I thought..... today my French neighbour Mary Jane called round and I tried my hardest to talk french we discussed the beautiful weather, the wedding invitation, Bob not getting home, gardens, veggie plot, horse, and then I took her across the road to the new English neighbours and we all babbled on, it was good fun. I think I will go round more to see them and just try and do 10 mins french with her.........you never know!!
Thought I would put another verb table down:
aller = to go
Je vais.............................I go
tu vas..............................you go
il/elle/on va....................he/she/one/it goes
nous allons.......................we go
vous allez.........................you go(pl & f)
ils/elles vont....................they go
Bob is no nearer getting home he is busy in Holland now and is not sure when he will be back in the UK so its just a case of wait and see:-(
Had a nice morning with Nookie just before the flies, gave him a good brush and his summer coat is nearly all through so he is looking quite shinny. I allow him into the other field at about 6ish and tonight he was having a real buck and squeal he has done it a few nights now, galloping from one field to the other interspersed with bucks leaps and neck twisting then just settles down to graze I hope its a sign that he is feeling OK?

STILL WAITING........
For Bob to get home...... It looks like flights are now moving but bob is in Holland so hopefully he will be here for weekend.
The weather is idyllic at the moment and I cannot find a thing to moan about. I love early mornings Nookie has a small breakfast whilst I give him a quick flick over and check for any lumps bumps bites, mask on I leave him to it, I try and get most things done before lunch, we have had some really warm afternoons so shorts and sunglasses have been the dress code of the day.
I seemed to have landed another small job I am not looking for jobs I just seemed to get lumbered maybe it's because I was born on a Saturday (Saturdays child works hard for a living) It's just mowing a small lawn and opening the windows to air the house and it's just round the corner from me so I can walk or ride my bike there.
My sister who is in the UK e-mailed me to see if it was OK to come over when the rest of the clan is out in June so we can all get together I don't know how my little house is going to cope but it will be good for us all to be together, I think I will go and price a tent up, that would solve mothers snoring problem LOL

BOO HOO........
Volcanic ash is stopping my husband from leaving the UK..... POO, his flight on Monday has been cancelled so I really don't know when to expect him home its such a shame. I hope it will be soon as we are now having some lovely sunshine, he managed to get here through all the snow we had this winter and now its a bloody volcano what next???
Yesterday and today have brought the dreaded flies alive and I am watching how Nookie is reacting He has had his mask on and up to now he seems quite unfazed, he has been bitten on his sheath but is not distressed I think its time to change his routine and let him graze all fields at night and then restrict him to the one field with his shelter in during the day he has been in most of the late afternoon and just has his little daft head poking out. Even Molly has been sunbathing her ball by her side just in case.

ANOTHER HG........
Went to the dordogne HG demo with Di today it was a beautiful day and I left Nookie happily grazing a rested field. The demo was a "Horse Whisperer" what a cock of a title......He was actually a very nice calm very astute guy, I did see moments of bullshit but as Di said he did need to put on a show and it went on a bit too long for me and I started to get flippant, and he had OCD with his rope which caused us to have the giggles.
My new chicken coop was delivered yesterday and its quite dinky not as large as it looked in the picture, so I am now trudging round trying to decide where it can go, where it wont be whipped up and blown into anja's field......I have visions of a scene from Wizard of Oz with the chickens inside whizzing in the air with the wind LOL.

SPEND....SPEND.....SPEND.....
I wish!!! I have had a trip to Perigreux and Limoges no reason other than I needed a bit of retail therapy and was happy to window shop. I have a list of things I want but as usual I have to go with the list of things I need which is zero at the moment unlike the list of things I want which is a 101........That's Life.
Saturday was Di's birthday and we all needed a Chinese fix so I booked a table at the one in St Yrieix......What a mission, we have been role playing booking a table in French lessons but it was quite funny trying to talk french to a Chinese person talking french with a Chinese accent. We had a good night and Di stayed over, her consumption of a box of wine and gossiping until 3am put payed to anything being done on Sunday Tee Hee.
A friend has given me two chickens so I have been on the lookout for a chicken coop and will be going to look at one on Tuesday.......everyone here in France seems to have chickens and Bob seems keen, it will be nice sending Scotty out in a morning to collect eggs for his breakfast!!

ENCORE......
The sun was out again today. Nookie had his feet trimmed this morning and was a good boy I thought he could have an hour down the drive to nibble at grass and I was using him instead of the mower when I caught him trying to open the gates his way of saying put me back in my field or maybe it was can I trash these gates?
The summer job of checking our friends pool started today and I had a nice cup of tea and a scone in the sunshine at their neighbours house while the pool cleaner did its job......Ker Ching!!

SUNSHINE & ACHES......
It was a lovely day today sunshine, blue skies, fluffy white clouds, not a breath of wind.....off into the garden planting to be done, deciding where to put everything was the hardest and I tend to flit from one job to another so I left them all in place and went to swap the hay from the more sheltered stable into the other, decided to keep Nookie in the one field to give the other two a rest and hope with this nice weather they will grow a bit so that meant putting the fencing back and moving water buckets which in turn meant I had to put two hoses together to reach the far field, at this point I noticed Nookie could do with a good groom......found a tick Aaaaagh squished the little bastard......back to planting got 5 in then managed to get a second load of washing on the line went poo picking the fields, dug another hole, brought washing in, did a chicken curry (jar) need to use them up, sat down about 8ish for Emmerdale.....seized up Its the sunshine that does it!!

STILL RAINING.....
Cats and dogs but it has softened the ground so that I have been able to dig a small veg plot it was hard work topping the grass and I have made good use of the hundreds of stones that have been dug up, the spoil has been put under the laurels and two barrows of manure dug in, I would like a raised bed......how hard can it be!!
Went to see a shetland pone as a companion for Nookie, WHY is nothing straight forward he is the smallest, cutest guy called Bertie BUT he is only 6 and the lady had acquired him??? no papers no chip I don't want some french person claiming him back...WHY are there so many odd English folk in France always rescuing things.
Went for supper to Vicky's Saturday night and watched a video Marley and Me I had been warned not to watch it because I would cry and guess what! I really blubbered.

EXHAUSTING........
Week.......Poor Bob never seems to get a rest when he comes home and I think he is glad to go back to work. We moved the stables it was Bobs idea! I did suggest we leave it till next time but we had a calm day on Saturday so we went for it, 1 hour later we had them down 2 hours later they were back up in their new position minus roof that took us another 2 hours. Only time will tell if we have chosen the right place but I am very happy where they are.
Its rained and still raining grass green end of!!!!!
Sister in SA phoned she had bad news..................herself, nephew and mother coming over for most of June, I am really looking forward to it I have not seen my mum for 6yrs so I want to get everything ready for their visit.
The pergola type thingy we want at the back of the house is going ahead and I am going to have some new gates to the fields and one on the drive so there is lots to do but I am getting a man who can in so it takes some pressure off Bob.
Went tree shopping with Di it was great we were like kids in a sweetie shop and we were both so giddy we were hyperventilating after 3 hrs we had crammed in the back of her 4 x 4 an assortment of trees and shrubs that all need planting now (pictures to follow).
