GRUMPY OLD WOMEN.........

Best programme on the tele, everything they discuss applies to me!! "one shouldn't go on children's trampolines if one has a weak pelvic floor" or if there is paparazzi taking photos from a window.....you know who you are ;-)

Lovely day today warm and sunny I managed to get the rest of my laurels planted and a dwarf lilac that took me an hour to get out of the glazed pot it has lived in for the past 5 years without breaking it.

Gave Nookie a good groom he has shed a lot of his winter coat and he really needs a good wash down, I have a new bottle of tea tree shampoo that I bought from the tack sale yesterday for 1 euro I love a bargain......... maybe when it gets warmer.

PIP.....

I was scanning (not very well) some old photos for Bob and I found some of Pip. These seem a lifetime ago and I dont want to lose the memories........I will do a Pip story

I DONT BELIEVE IT......

I want it to rain......my fields have no grass on them, you can see its trying to grow but it needs a good drenching. Will I ever be happy with the weather probably not. It has been nice and I absolutely love popping out in my Jim Jams, coffee in hand to feed Nookie put some hay out even poo pick, not a patch of mud in sight, then amble about HAPPINESS IS......

I have started working with Nookie only lunging and walking out, along with lots of grooming but not to much as I have taken his rugs off, his coat looks good as does his weight and feet, he has had a small amount of mud rash on his hind white sock which I have only just notice but a quick brush and de-scab and its clearing up. He enjoyed (if bucking, plunging, galloping around in a circle is enjoyment to a horse) our little lunge sessions, he has always been excellent to lunge so I will continue while the ground can cope with his antics.

Went out last night for dinner had a super night good grub lots of wine. Ann & Mick have been in Portugal for the winter and the weather has been the worst they have ever known.

After 2 weeks of lovely weather we now need some rain as the grass is not growing and it seems to have gone from sloppy mud to dust bowl, rain is forecast for the weekend.

THAT WAS.........

A coolness that keeps the flies at bay yet a warmth that lets you sit outside with a coffee listening to the wood pigeons and woodpeckers telling us its spring, the sun shining that makes snow, cold and winter seem an age away, little yellow heads poking through the soil, a blue sky from dawn till dusk, not having to put gloves, bobble hats and wellies on, not bringing wood in or lighting a fire, leaving the back door open, having a full line of washing blowing gently dry, filling water buckets from an easy to pull and de-iced hosepipe, grooming your horse while he is having a snooze and catching the rays, prawn salad with avo and lots of mayo, glass of wine........

THAT WAS......... aujourd'hui.........Qu'est -ce tu as fait aujourd'hui?

Sighhhhhhh.............its forcast snow tomorrow!!!!! :-(

BUSY DAY.......

Went to Ruffiac lake early this morning for a walk with the dogs it was lovely......... Bob (dog) and Molly went swimming much to my horror as I thought it was too cold but they both swam after sticks and seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. Got back just in time for lunch and stuffed my face with bacon on french bread Mmmmmm,

Because the ground is quite dry Nookie has access to all three paddocks and he is wandering around a lot more, the far paddock has one of the crap rollos of hay in it and he seems to like being in there, he has had a few yeehaw moments the kind where they come off the ground with all four legs and then strike out....... its good to see.

Shot off to Perigueux this afternoon to buy some laurel bushes for the garden which along with my many bulbs I should start planting........I get quite giddy buying plants!

Ended the day with burning some more hay, poo picking, mole busting, ball throwing then inside just before it was dark around 7ish for a glass of wine and tele.........molly has been spark out all evening!!

Most of this weeks lesson was recapping on two weeks of homework which I had managed to do on Sunday, next week we move to Wednesday afternoons.

I have been busy power washing everything and anything........front and back patios, windows, 2 tables, chairs, bench, buckets and even the car! its very satisfying power washing.

It has been very windy and cold for the last couple of days so I have been on edge slightly, keep checking whether stables still there! at least it has dried the mud up. This morning it was trying its best to snow.

NORMAL SERVICE........

Has been resumed........until the next catastrophe. This week has flown by after the hurricane, it has a name but I have forgotten it, friends and neighbours called round to see if they could help, it only took a tow rope and trusty old pick up to pull the stables back into place and after inspection there is no damage only a bit of twisting of the roof so as soon as we can they will be dismantled and re erected in their new place and a bit of concrete to hold them down!

Poor Di and Jim galloped over to my rescue just moments after we had done the deed I know Di hates the journey over to mine and I probably wasted their day but I really needed friends around........... as always when time passes I realise what a wuss I have been and need to just get on with it.

Bob had a 24hrs at home on his way back from Toulouse to Paris which was great he managed to get to Tesco and bring me a load of crap to cheer me up!! He is not keen for me to send Nookie away and came up with lots of plans Hmmmmmmmm.

Spent the last two days fixing electric fence in front of the small amount of barbed wire that I had and if I say so myself looks very good.
