3 Times......

Bob has been home three times in November one trip to Toulouse one trip to Palma Majorca and 5 days on his official break which has seen November fly by and before you know it December is upon us which means Christmas and cold wet windy weather and the dreaded snow!

I have finished another term of French lessons with a full day beginners conversation class which included lunch. the day was very enjoyable if extremely difficult and my goodness did I have a headache at the end of it. The lunch was fabulous so it was worth going......headache and all.

We took Molly to ruffiac lake and had a lovely walk she really enjoyed reading the latest newspaper and got very giddy an hour 30min walk and that was us done in for the rest of the day!

Bonkers!!!

Day today......the weather has been absolutely gorgeous, it showed 18.5 in the car this afternoon when I went shopping it seemed warmer than it did in June when we went to Paris so for mid November I would say that's bonkers!!!

Picked these goodies up from the supermarket they had all the Christmas chocolates in and thinking of the cold weather to come bought the cadburys hot chocolate will need to go to the bijou factory shop for chocolate Caramel straws to drink it through....dribble dribble the lemon meringues came in two's again one down already!

I Hate colds......

Just getting over the worst head cold I have had in a long time....thumping head, sneezing and snot for about 3 days.......thank goodness Bob had brought a load of cold and flu remedies over with him in preparation for his winter man flu.

Hopefully I will fell better to go to a wine tasting evening that I have been looking forward to this week......I hate colds!!!!

Millefeuille.....

Are this weeks treat and I think they are nicer than Kelly's vanilla slices.....I would love to compare them also found something similar to wimberry pies.

Shades of Grey.......

No not the book!! but our weather is turning into Winter the clocks went back one hour at the weekend  and with it the wet grey days have arrived. One of my first jobs was to get my new Electric Blanket on and the first night was sublime why the hell did I not have one last year when the temperatures fell to -20. The fire has been lit one of the nicest things about winter and the next trauma will be Christmas!


I have used everyone of these machines although I don't think we had a pink typewriter, The telex machine was quite difficult to get used to and not my favorite contraption and how easy was the fax machine with its glossy paper......Do people still use them???

Chickens.....

They have really grown and the baby chicks are huge things one does look as though its a cockerel so unfortunately it will be the pot for him....not my pot but someone's the other two are laying lovely eggs and all seem happy together.

Bob managed two days at home on his way to Toulouse and he bought over some really nice goodies from Marks & Sparks......Ham and roast beef that's been put in the freezer for Christmas, prawn butty's, a few fancy ready meals and carrot cake yum yum.

My Journey......

To my French lesson is a 25 minute drive to Thiviers and what a beautiful day it was. The town of Thiviers, in the north-east of the popular Dordogne department of south-west France, is a lively and attractive rural town which has an exceptionally good organic market held on Saturdays and is were I bought my chickens. Thiviers is a great centre for the production of Foie Gras, so if you are a fan of the delicacy there can be no better place to sample it than here! Most of the journey is along these kind of roads and I pass through many pretty hamlets the building with the archway is next to the car park.

Old Sweeties

I seemed to have gone off on a tangent and found old sweeties these are just a few......How I laughed at the selection at the bottom I always liked Galaxy and used to hate fudge bars but love them now.....Happy days!!

The weather has changed the temperatures have dropped leaves are tumbling all over the place and today I lit the first log fire very autumnal .

Random laughter

When remembering something......when you are just sitting or a key word sets you off this happened today! The key word being "do monkeys live here" but that's another story for another day.....today's story is....

It was a beautiful spring morning, nippy but blue skies I was on early shift at the newsagents I worked at. The daffodils were just starting to pop their heads through the grass in the little flower displays along my route, I remember thinking "oh goodie" spring is definitely on its way, there was nobody else about (or so I thought) when all of a sudden I cruckeled on my ankle the type that sends you right down not enough to fall but on staggering up I pitched forward and came face to face with a bloke clutching a pie!

did he try to catch me..no

did he say "are you ok" no

he reeled back in horror and said

"fuck me I thought you were trying to nick me pie"

It so very often gives me a few seconds of random laughter

It's Broke......

A few weeks ago I accidentally dropped my ipad on the kitchen floor.... A key ring in my bag had attached itself to the magnetic cover. I had placed it on the kitchen table and as I pull the key ring it dragged the ipad....bang on the floor it went..... it landed right on the corner shattering the glass but was still working so I have carried on using it....last night it was dead.....Nothing....Zilch.....Thank goodness we have the extended warranty and hopefully we will get it replaced.....This started a conversation on what technology we have seen come and go in our lifetime. The first 3 that come to mind.............

Sunshine & Rain

Bobs three days home and we had non stop heavy rain, much needed heavy rain but not on the same 3 day's....nonetheless we managed to clear the stables out, burned the last bit of rubbish and then filled it up with more rubbish out of the garage!

I'm not a hoarder but we have a green plastic table and chairs....it was the first thing we got when we bought the house
It's been moved down to the stables and really needs throwing out but it will stay where it is for sentimental reasons

Today is the most beautiful day.....blue sky's.....a nip in the air....the grass looking green....leaves floating down....the trees turning to gold,red and yellow no time to think about what's coming!

Nouveau pour moi

I am a real sucker for "new" stickers in the supermarket and today's fined was a tin of coffee latte.....I used to get Douwe Egberts but they seemed to have discontinued it, I'll give this one a go and hope I don't like it to much.

Next "Must Have" well it actually jumped in the trolley ..... Lindt Creation vanille-amandes coulis de caramel this will be eaten slowly whilst watching Sunday night television.

Enchantée

What a lovely word......used it today to greet 4 new classmates 3 ladies and a young chap, we all got introduced in a sort of speed dating way, moving from table to table with a set of easy questions and it was a nice way to get to know everyone, they have all just arrived in France and are all renovating!! one lady is living in a caravan so I hope it doesn't get as cold as it did last year.......looking forward to next week

New Term

At French lesson tomorrow ......I have not been a good student this summer, I am not a good student full stop but I enjoy going and my Franglais is improving if extremely slow.

Must try harder and easily distracted are ingrained in my mind ......School Reports!!!!

Are for getting up late....Lazing around in your PJ's.....Big fully loaded breakfast......none of which I have done today! We seem to be having an Indian summer and the weather is glorious. So tonight it's snuggle down with chocolate and watch the new series of Downton Abbey
