BLESS.............

Bob's little cotton socks......Relatives left on Friday.....two days slobbing.....then back to the airport for Bob.  The flight was about 1hr late, he had phoned me from Stanstead to let me know they were still sat on the runway, he finally arrived swearing and mumbling, so when I noticed him struggling to get in the car thought no more of it.....Just being his usual grumpy self!

We arrived home and out of his bag came an Xbox he had bought it at the airport in the early hours, unable to get the box in his bag they unpacked it all and he then managed to get it in...... in went the start up disc and the keep fit disc...... out came his stuff and the two discs..... back went the box and stuff but did he put the discs back in!!!! Left in the shop.  So a grumpy Bob became very grumpy. Bless!!

Di and Jim to the rescue, it was Jim's birthday so they came over for lunch and brought with them a start up disc calibrated it all and got us going........everyone should have a Di and Jim.

Thursday we went to the Chinese in St Yreix with Ivan and Val had a really good meal and tonight we are going to the Casino night in Jumilhac .......paper money, cheese and wine???

VISITORS 2011.........

First visitors of the year arrived on the 14th January 2011, the plane landed in a thick mist but I had studied the weather forecast and hoped it would be true to its word by being blue skies, sunny and temperatures in double figures as we left bellegarde and drove through the French countryside the mist lifted, sunshine appeared and that set the tone for the week.........Pheeeeew!!!

Its so exciting picking friends and relatives up from the airport, its all none stop talking and we were exhausted by the time we arrived home a quick tour round we spent the afternoon just catching up, first nights supper.....Corn Beef Hash Lancashire style.......gone in 60secs.

The rest of the week we visited most of our sightseeing repertoire albeit in the winter and everything was shut but we found food and drinks so happiness was restored.

We found or rather Noelle saw! a very nice place to visit on a Sunday when everywhere else is closed called Moulin de Tin Tin just outside St Junien. On our last day we invaded Di and Jim who made us very welcome with some warm moonshine that went down very well we spent the afternoon on the XBox and my legs have still not recovered!!! We all finished the day with a smashing meal out.

The week has flown by and all to soon it was back to the airport this time with tears......au revoir à bientôt

Oradour-sur-Glane is 25 kilometres north-west of Limoges.
Not a place to stay, but a place to visit in quiet contemplation. Oradour-sur-Glane was a village that was completely destroyed by the SS in June 1944, after killing all the inhabitants, as retribution for the activities of the local resistance, during World War 2. The men of the village were all shot, and the women and children burned to death in the church, before the village was razed to the ground.

Brantome in January we had a typical French lunch Mmmmmm

This picture made me laugh what is Noelle saying??

Snoooozy time

The chooks did me proud working overtime

NEW YEAR 2011........

Happy New Year............Never really been into New Year I get a bit maudling about it. We sat and watched grumpy old Men/Women and they said it all really.... Its all over now so we can get on with plans for spring my favorite season.

Came back from Ikea minus the wardrobe all the measuring for length and would it fit into the car length ways had all been in vain because the width of the sliding doors had not been taken into account!!! SO what to do with the money??  New kitchen table with chairs....2 lots of bedding.....2 new bedroom lamps....candles.....cuddly toy? I was not going all that way to come back with nothing.

Di and Jim came over on Monday and it was lovely to see them Bob was especially pleased as boffin Di got him up and running on his macbook. He returned home on Tuesday and that night I had a skype conversation with him in his truck.............2011 we live in France with a plane as our bus service talking to one another via a screen     WHO'D OF THOUGHT!

JINGLE BELLS..........

Picked Bob up Friday, after watching the weather, Airport and RyanAir websites praying the snow wouldn't make an appearance, he arrived on time as we got in the car it was starting to snow quite hard but soon turned to rain Thank goodness.

We have had a lovely, quite, relaxing Christmas so far..... two days of chocolate and not much else, it has been bitter cold so after a morning of blowing moles up we slob out in the afternoon playing with our Xmas presents and thank goodness for Skype its great being able to chat to South Africa and the UK on Christmas day and Boxing day

Sister is on her way and I hope she has packed enough warm clothes and replaced her open toe sandels with wellies, they are in for a big shock when they land in the UK.

Off to Ikea tomorrow for a new wardrobe well that's the plan god knows what we will come back with......packet of candles no doubt!!

FIRST........

Christmas Dinner, which was excellent really enjoyed it, especially because I risked my life to get it. The Horse Groups Xmas bash had been on/off because snow was forcast so when they said yes its on I set off to Di's in a flurry of snow which was settling on the roads and decided I would stay over.....off we went and by the time we had stuffed our face it had turned into rain and felt considerably warmer......or so I thought!!!!! I decided to go home, the road from la coquille to Jumilhac was quite bad and there is a steep and twisting climb and it was covered in snow I just put my foot down and stayed in the middle of the road.....round the bend 1 car in the ditch 1 hanging over the edge and 2 cars stopped, but a gap in the middle which I headed for and kept going, after that it's mostly down hill but it took me ages to do that stretch and was happy to have made it home!

Monday, 13 December 2010

Bob arrived home on friday and he has had three lovely days...Blue skies a big yellow sun but quite nippy. We went for a long walk with Molly on Saturday to our favorite place and we all piled into the pickup to give it a run out Happy Days!!

I dont know why but moles send me into a rage and we seem to have a million of the bloody things, my garden is going to disappear into one big hole followed by the house. I use all the spoil for my veggie plot and new beds but it's a never ending mess and the more I clear them away the more pop up........SO we bought the bomb gizzmo that blows the blooooody things up, its gone off once and hey presto nothing for a day, its set up with a bucket over so molly and the chooks don't touch it......I have a horrible feeling they are going to get me back!

Thank goodness all the reality programmes have finished I feel I have been a slave to the television, most of it has been crap, the only excellent viewing has been Coronation Streets 50 years celebration and live episode which was FAN...TAS...TIC I have grown up with this programme and cannot believe its age.....Oooops do I mean my age!
